Vienna – it has been 11 years since I’ve been there. I have visited many countries since then, but oh, I still long to go back! Have you ever experienced this feeling? Travel nostalgia. Yup, that is where I’m at – not a bad place to be.
11 years ago, this was my first trip overseas and my first trip that we used our new compact digital camera! A 3.2 megapixle beauty – hey, we were high tech back then! 😀 A small little one inch screen to review photos on! Those were the days… 🙂 Some of these photos were taken with a film camera (I have no idea about what type of film was used – photography had at that time not developed into a hobby yet!)
11 years ago it was 2004. Me and my Mom planned an unforgettable 3 week trip visiting Europe (Vienna Austria, Paris France, Groningen Netherlands and London England). We were in Vienna for 8 days and were hosted by dear friends from South Africa that was living (and is now again living) in Vienna. They went through SO much trouble of showing us around, giving us the history behind places, taking us to abbeys and towns in the area. It really was SO special and truly unforgettable!
I tried to process the photos as best I can, but with teeny-tiny JPEG’s, you just have to appreciate what you have and enjoy the sweet sweet memories that these shots are still able to bring you! Hey, vintage is so in right now! 😉 So I hope you enjoy these few photos as much as I enjoy sharing them… This collection comprises of me and my Mom’s photos!
I would love to return someday – the hubby should definitely still see this beautiful city! Even in winter, behind scaffolds and dreary weather, the amount of culture and history is bound to captivate you.
I will be back Vienna… The memories have been special… The longing has been immense… I will be back Vienna!!
